And now for a bit of history! The Committee has obtained the following information about the Club's history from a member of the Club.
The Scots Guards Association Club opened in 1924. We think that the building (2 Clifton Terrace) was built in about 1850. Some Ex Scots Guardsmen got together and borrowed the purchase money from a Minister ( probably Church of Scotland).
The Minister may have been the Reverend William Andrew Knowles. The whole thing was paid for we think by 1941. We have got a list of documents lodged with the Bank of Scotland in 1941. The documents date from 1864 to 1941. We will keep all members informed as we discover more.
